Inside The Reserve at Wild Willow
Every so often a piece of jewelry earns a permanent spot in your rotation: the one you reach for without thinking, the one that goes with everything. At Wild Willow, that's what The Reserve at Wild Willow is built for. It's our collection made with 14k gold plated beads and findings and genuine freshwater pearls, designed as everyday staples you'll keep coming back to.
What Makes The Reserve Different
Most of what we make is one-of-a-kind, designed once and never duplicated. The Reserve is the exception, on purpose. These are the designs we want to be able to offer again. If you've ever fallen for a piece and wished you could get it again later, or gift a matching one, this is the collection to look at first.
14k Gold Plated, Explained
The gold-colored beads and findings in The Reserve are 14k gold plated: a layer of 14k gold bonded over a base metal. It gives each piece that warm, classic gold tone at an approachable price, and it pairs beautifully with pearls. Like any plated jewelry, it looks its best for longest with a little everyday care (more on that below).
The Pearls
Genuine freshwater pearls are grown in mussels, not manufactured, which is why no two are quite the same. Look closely at a strand and you'll see slight differences in shape, size, and the way each one catches light. That's not a flaw; it's the tell that they're real. Freshwater pearls come in a lovely range of soft neutrals, and they have a warmth that reads dressy without feeling formal, which is exactly why they work so well next to gold.
How to Wear It
The Reserve pieces are deliberately quiet, so they layer easily. A few combinations that always work:
- Solo, as a daily piece. One gold bracelet, worn alone, on the wrist opposite your watch.
- Two-piece pairing. A pearl piece next to a plain gold one. The contrast in texture does the work.
- As the anchor of a bigger stack. Build out with colorful or beaded pieces from Willow's Stacks and let the gold piece hold the whole thing together.
If you're mixing collections, keep the metal tones in the same family (gold with gold) so the stack looks intentional.
Caring for Your Reserve Pieces
Put jewelry on last, after lotion, perfume, and hairspray, and take it off before swimming, showering, or a workout. Store pieces separately rather than loose in a pile, so pearls don't get scratched by harder beads and clasps. Wipe gold plated pieces and pearls with a soft, dry cloth after wear, and never soak them or use harsh cleaners.
Choosing Your First Piece
If you're new to the brand, start with the piece you can picture wearing on an ordinary Tuesday, not the most dramatic one. Everyday pieces earn their keep, and they give you a base to build on later. From there, one-of-a-kind additions from The Charmed Willow or Willow's Stacks are the fun part, because you know nobody else has the same combination.
